Yes, it is true.

I am now a vegan. Like, as in, I made this decision yesterday while eating chicken, and starting this morning I am vegan.

Why? Honestly, a lot of reasons. One is that I've gained back every single pound I lost this summer in one week in Europe. Possibly due to pounds of butter, duck, cheese, and alcohol.

But there are others. I used to have a somewhat restricted diet, and I think it's better for you by far. I felt better when I didn't eat meat, and I had less acne. I think I also maintained a lower weight without all this yo-yo-ing, dieting then gaining then losing then gaining. When you have serious food rules in place, you have a much better time of avoiding "bad" foods.

And also....I really like animals. And I would like them to be humanely treated. AND I KNOW THAT'S A STUPID HIPPIE THING TO SAY. I know, I'm a crunchy hippie. But I'm not going to be preachy, I'm just saying for my own pysche, I don't want to eat something that I don't know how it was treated. And I already think about chemicals on my veggies...so yeah. It's a piece of mind choice, for my own sake, I think. And also Aang does it. So, yeah.

Anyway, I'm chronically my journey into vegan-hood. In numbers. As in, I have like 2 pimples on my face now. Maybe 3. I don't know. We'll see how that changes. #science

ALSO I may be doing a juice cleanse. Or getting a juicer. WEEEEEEE

Yeah I'm back from Vacation

And I learned a whole lot. Basically that there's a lot of legal alcohol in Europe. Which would explain my last post. Kind of. I don't know anymore.

I also learned I am not a good flyer. I already knew this, but basically I can't take connecting flights. I need direct, or I'll have a panic attack.

I learned EasyJet (Europe's cheap-ass flight line) SUCKS MAJOR. More on this later, but this is NOT the Europe twin of JetBlue. JetBlue is the best thing in the world, this shit just SUCKS OMG.

I made a new friend, D, who I'll be quoting on Thursday most likely.

I learned that I don't like London all that much (sorry London).

I learned that I like ale much better than beer, which kinda sucks cause you can't really get ale in America I think, but I don't really know anymore.

I learned that NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU TRY TO LOSE WEIGHT BEFORE A TRIP, IT DOESN'T MATTER BECAUSE FRANCE WILL FORCE YOU TO GAIN IT ALL BACK AND MORE. I'm serious. Constant drink + cheese + bread = FATTY CANDICE.

So back to the juice cleanses before school. And the sims. I need to effing chill out for a few days and stare at a wall.

Last weekend I went to the beach with my best friend K, we watched a heck of a lot of Supernatural, ate, relaxed, napped, drank, and got sunburned (we're two white girls, what?). That, and my lack of a laptop (I don't bring laptops on vacation. Plus I need a new one so, whatever), led to me missing out on blogging over the weekend, which I KNOW you all think is an absolute travesty.

Well I have more travesty-esque news....

I'm going to Paris tomorrow!!! [Which is SO EXCITING!] I'll be keeping a play-by-play travel journal (meaning it'll be ridiculously detailed. This is my first trip to western Europe ever, and I want to remember it ALL), so when I come back you can hear all about it.

Well, while altering my "public image" [as my mom calls it] may make all those questions not a problem while ALSO damaging my pageview count, the truth is I don't know why I'm flipping the switch. Maybe watching Supernatural with my best friend over the weekend has finally scared the crap out of me. The episode with Moses' Staff...ugh I still get shivers.

kaleidoscope!

My new nickname is Kaleidoscope. It may or may not be based on a drunk interesting text, as you can see below, from my BFF J.

So, this got me thinking about my eyewear. Which is a natural progression from drunk texting.

After some research, I discovered 2 different brands that produce Kaleidoscopic-lensed glasses. The fashion world is all in a tizzy over the new h0les brand and their very expensive face jewelry, and I've read several blog posts that seem to assume that h0les was the first to create such lenses, or have this idea.

But, as a girl on a budget (who has a pension/addiction for shopping), I dug deeper. And I believe that h0les is not the first one to make such trippy eyewear.

I found Future Eyes, a brand that seems to have been around for at least a year, with a less-expensive set of glasses. They produce these glasses for dedicated ravers, I think, and general fashion-y people, but I don't know why fashion blogs seem to have missed them? They're not that much cheaper, especially if you want (as I would) the rainbow-colored lenses, but I think that they are a viable option. [Hopefully they aren't just a less-expensive gateway drug type of thing, like Fujifilm Instaxes are to Polaroid Instant cameras.] They also have a seemingly awesome 2-for-1 deal, and I may need to get a pair for a friend (Are my friends cool enough, though? WE'LL SEE.)

The point is, I need a pair for the party scene this fall. Like, NEED. More than a record player or pepper spray. Do I go for the cheaper, OG glasses? Or the newer, fashion-centered brand? Can you tell a difference????
